Food Sensitivity Testing

Find Out What Foods Trigger an Immune Response, Leading to Health Problems

If you’re suffering from a chronic health problem, certain foods could be the cause. When you consume foods and chemicals to which you are sensitive, an inflammatory response is triggered. Identifying your food sensitivities and building your meal plans around the foods that you’re not sensitive to may improve inflammation-based health issues within a matter of weeks.

Answers to Common LEAP Questions

Certified LEAP Therapist Lisa Johnson answers common questions about food sensitivity testing.

Health Problems Often Compounded by Food Sensitivities

A surprising array of health conditions can be triggered by food sensitivities. If you experience any of the following, you may be able to dramatically reduce or eliminate your symptoms by identifying problem foods and avoiding them.

  • Migraines and other headaches
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Heartburn/GERD
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Arthritis
  • Joint and Muscle Pain
  • Fatigue
  • Autism
  • Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
  • Inflammation
  • High Blood Pressure
  • High Cholesterol

LEAP and MRT Testing

Food sensitivities present with chronic inflammatory symptoms rather than acute reactions. Therefore, they are more difficult to identify than food allergies. Further, traditional allergy tests do not identify food sensitivities. Yet 30-40% of people have severe food sensitivities. For this reason, we recommend the LEAP (Lifestyle Eating and Performance) protocol, based on the MRT (Mediator Release Test) blood test by Oxford Biomedical Technologies. This is the most accurate food sensitivity test with a wealth of clinical research behind it.  It has been proven to improve the health of countless individuals, including our own clients.

How Our Food Sensitivity Testing Works

If you decide that food sensitivity testing is right for you, you’ll meet with either Lisa Johnson or Debbie Owen, our certified LEAP therapists. They have advanced clinical training in food sensitivities. They will assess your symptoms and guide you through the food sensitivity testing process. Here’s how the process works:

  • Meet with LEAP therapist to determine if food sensitivity testing is a good option for you.
  • Complete the blood work at a lab near you.
  • Attend a follow-up appointment with your LEAP therapist to discuss results, develop meals, learn grocery shopping strategies, and discover options for dining out.

I found out that wheat, corn and pumpkin were not my friend! And, most of my diet consisted of wheat and corn! With this testing and the plans that Lisa mapped out for me, the difference in my health has been amazing! I always felt like I was heavy, sluggish, bloated and energy was so low. Through the knowledge provided by LEAP and Lisa, I have the energy I had raising two children! I only occasionally feel heavy/bloated (when I have a hidden trigger) but now understand why I feel that way. Know what the best part of all of this is? My thyroid issue has improved dramatically (Hashimoto's) due to the reduced inflammation that the wheat/corn were causing in my body. Thank you Lisa for recommending the LEAP program. It has truly been a gift!
