Even if you don’t want to do the picking, you can still purchase a basket full. You won’t find these flavors or prices in the grocery store. Fresh berry season lasts from May to July, so you must act quickly to enjoy these seasonal healthy treasures.

Packed with vitamin C and powerful antioxidants called flavonoids, berries have been shown to prevent many chronic conditions such as dementia, cancer, heart-disease, and high blood pressure. Being high in fiber and low in sugar also makes them the ideal sweet treat for anyone concerned with blood sugar control.

Only wash berries just before you eat them. Soak the amount you plan to eat in a bowl of water with a splash of white vinegar for about 10 minutes and rinse well. This will remove any residues.
